In the second quarter of 2024, the performance of the top 5 communication apps on the Android platform in Egypt showcased interesting trends. According to Sensor Tower's data, these apps saw varying levels of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users.

Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting from around 126K in early April and peaking at approximately 349K by mid-June. The app also maintained a robust number of weekly active users, fluctuating around the 40M mark throughout the quarter, with a slight dip in early June but recovering towards the end of the period.

WhatsApp Messenger saw consistent weekly downloads, beginning at 168K in early April and reaching up to 238K by mid-June. The app's weekly active users remained stable, hovering around 35M, with minor fluctuations but no significant drops or spikes.

Truecaller: AI Call Blocker from Truecaller had a steady revenue stream, starting at approximately $3.9K in early April and increasing to around $5K by the end of June. Weekly downloads showed a slight decline, beginning at 163K and ending at 156K. Active users for Truecaller were stable, staying around the 17M mark throughout the quarter.

WhatsApp Business also demonstrated consistent performance. Weekly downloads ranged from 119K to 164K, with a peak in mid-April. The app's active user base grew steadily from around 3.2M to 3.4M by the end of June.

Lastly, Telegram from Telegram FZ-LLC showed a gradual increase in revenue, starting at approximately $1K in early April and reaching about $1.7K by the end of June. Weekly downloads fluctuated between 107K and 161K, while active users saw a slight decline, from around 9.3M in early April to approximately 9M by the end of June.
